If you've ever spotted a Love Islander shivering in their swimwear in the shade, then former contestant Wes Nelson may have just revealed the reason why.
The 2018 contestant has disclosed that producers won't let Islanders cover up during the day, to make sure they're showing off their six-packs and toned physiques for the cameras.
Maybe that's why they never seem to go in the pool?!
"Yeah, it's not coincidence [that we're always topless or girls are in bikinis]," Wes told Roman Kemp on
"Like, I used to try and go out in a hoodie and heavily clothed in the morning because sometimes it is a bit chilly but yeah, you'd have to take that off."
When host Roman asked whether the producers would shout, 'Stop! Top off!', Wes recalled: "Yeah, because obviously we'd like to be in the shade a bit of the day because it is roasting hot, so when you're in the shade it is actually quite cold.
"So me and Josh used to run out all the time in little hoodies and they'd be like, 'Wes take that off! Take that off! Take it off.'"
Wes also said that during their 'days off' - which 2017 winner Kem Cetinay recently spoke about - they didn't go to the beach, they went to a holding villa instead.
"The first time that we had a day off was three weeks in and then I think we had four in total," the former Dancing on Ice star explained.
"But it's not to the beach, we never got the beach! We went to a holding villa but they monitor everything, they make sure you’re not having any saucy chats. But it's quite nice to not have any drama and have chat chats, it's nice to just chill."
Yesterday, Love Island fans were left reeling when ITV2 confirmed that Sherif Lanre had been removed from the villa .
Sherif said in a statement: "In a case of poor judgement, I broke the villa rules and as a result agreed with the producers that it was best for me to leave the villa.
"I regret that I didn't conduct myself in the right way and, as a 20-year-old guy, it's something I know I will take on board and learn from. I really enjoyed my time in the villa and look forward to catching up with everyone on the outside."
